It has been a long time.

Hey there. It has been forever since I have posted anything on here. I have been very busy finishing up school and will finally have some free time. Good news is that around my birthday I had basically collected all the figures in the "classics" line. Picked up Perceptor, Wheeljack, Thundercracker, and Warpath. I was also able to find my Fracture figure. The old Walmart exclusive repaint of Classics Mirage. Also filled out the collection with Kup, Scourge, Wreck-gar, and Seaspray. I believe that the figures from 2010 and into 2011 have been the best Transformers figures that I have seen in a long time.

Some sad notes though; Reveal the Shield Windcharger seems to have been cancelled. I hope he is released at a later date. People have reported seeing Solar Storm Grapple, but I doubt I will see him. Masterpiece Rodimus was not released in the United States, which means I will probably not be picking one up.

Now I am just waiting to see the news from Botcon in June. Hoping for some more classics line figures, but I'm sure the focus will be on the new movieverse figures. May be a slow year for my collection.

Update 1/29

Finally found Reveal the Shield Special Ops Jazz. I will have to say that he is one of my top 5 favorite figures. If Tracks and Jazz are any example of how the Reveal the Shield line will be in the future, its going to be a smash hit. Both figures have awesome transform modes and accessories. They really are a great homage to their G1 figures.

I am very excited for the new Masterpiece Rodimus figure. It will be expensive, but he is my favorite character. I have some new pictures of him below.

The new figures were released at some Target stores, so I hope that I can at least see some of the new ones, maybe pick them up in a few months.

The next group

I finally was able to open my new Thunderwing figure. I like the figure for the look of the robot mode and the idea that another comic character has made an appearance in the toy line. However, I feel that it falls short in the vehicle mode and has a simplistic transformation similar to the other Seekers in the line, such as Starscream. Thunderwing does add to my Decepticon ranks and that always helps, with that being said, I would like to see some more original cartoon Decepticons make appearances in the toy lines.

I am still search for Special Ops Jazz and hope to find him soon. After Jazz comes a large number of new figures that will fit nicely in my collection.

List of the new 2011 figures:
Generations Scourge, Generations Sergeant Kup, Generations Thundercracker, and Generations Wheeljack.
Reveal the Shield Perceptor, Wreck-gar, Windcharger (Scout class), and Solar Storm Grapple (Voyager class).

I am sure these are all the new ones coming out in 2011, but these are the next on the list. After rereading the list, it seems like quite a lot in a short period of time.

Finally able to get two new figures for the start of 2011

Picked up Reveal the Shield Turbo Tracks and Generations Thunderwing. Tracks is an awesome figure honoring the G1 Transformer. Looks real good and a great transformation. I haven't had a chance to open Thunderwing, but I'm hoping for tomorrow.

Still searching for Special Ops Jazz (out currently) and will hopefully begin searching for Reveal the Shield Windcharger (Scout sized figure) and Solar Storm Grapple (Voyager size figure).

My Current collection

I started my Transformers collection in 2006. I fell in love with the original TV series and had some of the original figures from my childhood, but I really regained interests with the Classics series that were released. From there, I have followed with figures that I thought looked good and had a cohesive visual image in my collection. I have tried to stay away from repaints as much as possible, unless the characters were part of the original TV series. The collection isn't huge because I really look over the figures on whether or not I would like them. A lot of the Universe released figures were repaints from earlier lines and just didn't sit well with my figures.

End of 2010

With 2010 coming to an end, we can look back at a great year of Transformer action figures. I am looking forward to the new 2011 figures coming out. 7 have been released so far, but 3 have caught my eye.

Generations Thunderwing: I still need more Decepticons for my collection.
Reveal the Shield Special Ops Jazz: One of my all time favorite characters, been waiting for him to be remade.
Reveal the Shield Turbo Tracks: Never got the original as a boy, still one of my favorites.

Special Ops Jazz

Thunderwing

Turbo Tracks

They have already been spotted in stores, but I will start searching after the holiday season.
